Day six of Seven Day Nature Challenge

created under Gov't permit.

                                                      Created under Gov’t permit.

This image was created last week, and it shows my friend Kai Matthes along side a majestic Sperm Whale that just happens to be upside down with its jaw exposed.  The female named Can Opener enjoys brief interactions with swimmers and has been known to roll over and over, or open and shut her jaw showing her teeth.  Sperm whales have incredible vision and keen hearing. These whales sense sound through their jaws.
