Sanctuary at the Waterfront!

This portrait was created among a series of seamounts in the southern region of the Vavau’ island group in Tonga. The Seamounts are relatively close and several come to within a few feet of the surface.  They form a sort of barrier with shallow water in between and really deep on the outside.  I believe the seamounts provide a sanctuary from predators and that is why it is so popular for migrating mothers with newborn whales.

This is one of the portraits that will be on display at the Waterfront Restaurant re-opining in their new location in Maalaea in mid-May.  Come in for great food and great decor.  If you see something you like have the waiter add it to the food bill.  If you make it home and decide you want the art order it here.
