Watch Out Below

colorful eel that lives for the most part beneath the sand

In the Lembeh Strait there are many stationary predators that rely on cryptic color and design to allow unsuspecting prey to come close enough to become consumed.   The majority of the eels body is hidden from view under the sand.

The lembeh Strait is in Bitung , North Sulawesi Indonesia and is home to Lembeh Resort and Critters Diving  The dive company here specializes in showing divers the marine life.  The guides are incredibly good,  resort is spacious, and the food is wonderful.
