Maui portraits of Tyree Family

Tis the season for family portraits.  What I like about this one is the triangle formed by the pose.  Geometric shapes are strong compositional elements.  I also like that he horizon is not in the middle.  This adds interest to the portrait.

Nice family portrait. Did you direct them on how to dress up? This is always a question I have: a good photographer should also give advices on what to wear, and so on, or just do his/her best with what he/she has?

We spend a lot of time pre-planning with clients before the session. Our goal is to create portraits that capture emotion and expression, while at the same time match the decor of the room the portrait will be displayed. In this way the family art completes and complements the space.
